CHC40202 - Certificate IV in Service Coordination (Ageing and Disability)

Course Objectives

This qualification is part of the Community Services Training Package. The CHC40202 — Certificate IV in Service Coordination (Ageing and Disability) provides you with the qualifications to work in residential facilities and/or community care agencies. You may coordinate specific programs and/or projects and supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of lower classified workers or volunteers.

Course Content / Structure

There are 15 units of competency which make up a CHC40202 — Certificate IV in Service Coordination (Ageing and Disability). There are 10 compulsory units and 5 electives. Competency is required in all 15 units.

There are also two prerequisite units for this qualification, these are:

Industry Placement

If you are not currently working within the industry,160 placement hours must be undertaken to successfully complete this course.


Workplace Assessment

Workplace training gives you the opportunity to develop practical job skills, such as interacting with people in a professional environment, developing communication skills, as well as an insight into particular job roles and responsibilities. Others have found workplace training enhanced their chances of getting a job and succeeding at it.

Following placement hours, you are required to provide a signed Pre-Assessment Interview form, Workplace Assessment form, Record of Outcome form and also the Workplace Agreement form to verify you have successfully demonstrated the practical components of each of the required competency outcomes. A qualified manager/supervisor must sign the forms as validation.

Skills Recognition — Exemptions/Transfers

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications.

Qualification

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised. On successful completion students will be awarded the Certificate IV in Service Co-Ordination (Ageing and Disability).
