Course Objectives
Frontline managers are central to efficient and improved productivity in the workplace. To meet the challenges of globalisation, increased competition, best practices, managing knowledge and the increasing complexity of work, many organisations are recognising that effective workplace leadership and team approach are critical to success.
The changing workplace has led to the development of a significantly different role for Frontline Managers. Today’s Frontline Managers have a major leadership role and are responsible for facilitating, developing and supporting team cooperation within a strategic framework.
The focus is on tactical and strategic issues, looking at the big picture and often evaluating the direction of the organisation. The standards, ethics and values they display will to a significant degree, have effects on the performance of both individuals and teams within an organisation.
These studies will provide managers the opportunity to learn theories in a self paced and directed learning environment and to apply this knowledge in practice.

Assessment
All programs in the qualification are assessed through on and off the job assessment tasks and a work-based project, which requires you to compile a range of evidence to demonstrate competency. These assessments consolidate the knowledge and skills gained during a learning and assessment program to enable validation and transfer of learning to the individual workplace context.
Successful completion and demonstrated competence of a single unit of competence entitles you to the award of a Statement of Attainment for the relevant unit of competence. Successful completion and demonstrated competence of the set of 11 units of competence qualifies you for the award of a BSB51004 — Diploma of Business (Frontline Management).
Modes of Delivery and Course Structure
The course is offered in the class room and via a flexible distance learning approach. The course consists of on and off the job assessment.

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications.
Further Study Links
After satisfactorily completing the Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) students may wish to further their studies to the Advanced Diploma of Business or apply to University to undertake a Bachelor of Business program. University requirements may vary. Students are able to exit at Certificate III and certificate IV levels if they do not wish to complete the Diploma.
